Day 2 Reflection: Serendipity

I am reflecting now on my last two posts and will make a commitment to entitle my reflections with words that begin with the letter "S" for the rest of this semester.

It was an interesting second week, in which I got to witness everyone in our class collaborating with each other in order to solve a problem.  I saw that with the textbook snafu and was impressed with the entire class, including Dr. Rivera, to work together and help out.  I'm just super thankful that we got each other's back. :)  Thanks, everyone!

  1. I love how everyone work together to conquer our textbook problem. Great job everyone! These quote reminds me of us "Coming together is a BEGINNING; keeping together is PROGRESS; Working together is SUCCESS". It's nice to know that I have colleagues that are willing to come together to provide moral support, keep us positive, and willing to work together to accomplish a common goal.

  3. Ruth,

I like that word "Serendipity". I think discoveries made when you least expect it are the discoveries learned from the most. As educators we should guide our students to find these simple and happy discoveries on their own so it can build a positive learning experience and a sense of accomplishment.

    1. I agree with you, Toni. The effort of finding happyness in unexpected places and being always grateful are traits that can help anyone of any age, any walk of life. :)

  4. Ruth,

It's important to remain positive. In light of our discovery regarding the textbook, I've made a consideration to extend the due date of the forums. It is important to hang in there, despite the circumstances. Sometimes things occur beyond our control, and therefore communication is key. Hang in there, and continue to keep me posted.

    Best,
    Dr. Rivera
