The importance of Oral Language Development in the ESL/ELL classroom

I found this video on youtube and I thought it will be nice and appropriate to share it with everyone since chapter 4 talked about Oral Language Development in Second Language Acquisition.

  1. My principal has a mantra that he repeats often: "The one who is doing the talking is the one doing the learning." As cheesy as that sounds, I think it is quite true. When students talk, argue, express opinion, and explain, this can greatly help us gauge where they are in their learning. And it should be only a matter of time and practice when what is said can be what is written. :)
